There is a lot of unused recipes already now, but with the advent of domestic animals it rises to another level.

Every recipe is good for its own thing, depending on your humor level, base development, and what foods you like to make if you're more of a farmer or a hunter or whatever. Domestic animals don't make every other recipe useless, because Domestic animals are both very powerful, and difficult to reproduce. Animals take a long time to breed, raise, and get to a point where you can butcher them, so the quantities are limited. Once you get to a very high level, domestic animals make it easier to go even higher with less spamming of small foods, but you'd be insane to use those recipes on a new character. Similarly, the inspirationals are unusually good both because domestic animals are difficult, hard work for advanced players and because if you're far enough advanced to have them, you're probably tired of spamming the smaller inspirationals too.

Yeah, and there are those who would disagree with you because they prefer hunting or otherwise don't want to make a ton of bajgiels. We did try to make it so that you could find good foods in any food group for what you like to do or how often you play.

I meant to reply to him but got distracted. As a person that likes to dabble in the salem gobbling system, I can honestly say that just relying on bagels makes me want to cry so many tears that JC would explode out of an overload of them. I won't even delve into the multitude of recipes that you could use aside from bagels, and only say that a sweet jerky made with first tier fruit of the same purity as a bagel would be slightly worse in terms of points gained for 9 times less F&F timer.

Any of the decent recipes that don't take super rare ingredients are a better option even with the 2 hour restores, and the only benefit to using bagels is the ease of cooking it. But as always with the right infrastructure everything becomes pretty easy to do. Just depends on how fast you want to raise your chars.

Edit: I usually get worked up about comments like "bagels 4 life" because I worry that newbies will see these comments and think that's all there is to the gluttony system. A bit like I myself was dissuaded by the old mainstream gluttony habits of just scarfing a billion pure pies as they were. So keep in mind newbies, the gluttony system is worth looking into beyond just pies, so just play with it and test stuff out and fun will be had.

Let's all just create characters on the other server and finish the ark. If we work together we can probably have it done in a week

many recipes are useful, to beginners, but in terms of simplicity of mass production bajgels beat them all. If you want to mini-/maximize time spent cooking food and gobble values, you go for bajgels.
