unfortunately we live in a world where the media controls us. or at least it tries its best to. that being said, yes these 2 were the best for the media, thus propelled all the way thru.

Nah, Hillary was the media's darling and that's why she got the democratic nomination.

But Trump got his because he was just too clever with his manipulations of the media and they weren't expecting it. I'll never forget the way he rickrolled them on the 'birther' issue, getting basically a free hour of promoting himself and saying anything he damn well pleased before dropping like two sentences about Obama being clearly born here, duh. And then they all whined like little ***** about it, guaranteeing that everyone would at least watch some of that speech and would think better of Trump for the awesomeness of his ploy. And the more the media whined, the more people both listened to Trump, and ignored the bad things the media were saying about him, because it just became so obvious that they'd say anything, including lies, to discredit him. If someone tells you someone else is rude, you might believe them, but if they tell you that person is rude AND EATS BABIES AAHHH, you might start to doubt everything they're telling you.

So, yeah, Trump may or may not have actually been our best Republican Candidate, especially since he's not all that republican, and Hillary definitely shouldn't even be in politics at all, but that's how our elections work, God bless 'em.
