I think Salem bashing is borne out of sheer frustration with the development cycle. Features get rushed, and then never revisited to polish them off so they work properly (the whole waste claim thing, for example, is a travesty). This also has a lot more to do with low population than grumbling on the forums. Hopefully this'll change now that devs aren't under such pressure to keep pumping out new content.

To their credit the mods have been much better about both bashing Salem and promoting HnH in the last couple of weeks. I don't mind some mod drama and some criticisms of the dev's and updates but keep it completely constructive. I don't want to hear about HnH and see screen shots from the mods new base on HnH. It doesn't help the game grow. Leave it on the HnH threads. Again, there's been less of this in June so a little pras for that.

I post this as a player who really likes Salem, and who has been trying hard to help retain player numbers, at least on Roanoke.
Be it by playing the court jester dressed in funny cloth, in Roanoke city, grouping up random people for silly screenshots, selling my purity boards, or by throwing around some free legacy humus, pumpkins and other nicities.

Pras to Gandalf and the boards and to all of this.

I personally have been helping, gifting, answering questions for, and kinning every noob I see for months. If the mods aren't doing the same and thinking of themselves as promoters of the games, they should move on.

martinuzz wrote:Now I'm not saying that mods should play Salem. It would be nice, but I can see mods being able to do their modding thing without the need of actually playing.

They should absolutely be actively playing Salem. If you want to mod the forums, play the game, otherwise what's the point.

I wouldn't count on that much :|
If in salem a mod can be kid that loves hnh, he is friend to devs and if he feels bad he cries about rules in game he doesn't like to play much.

If it takes you that much to stop moderating/playing....

No problem, I'll make a newer, better & completer one. (without advertising)

You really should play both. Salem at the moment is not enough content and too much of a grind. Enjoy hnh and see how much better salem is going to be once more time passes with it.
