Technically, it's a beta. There's an industry term that eludes me right now (probably 'feature incomplete'), but it's between "alpha"--incomplete software that may or may not work at all, mostly just a collection of parts--and a "feature complete beta"--all parts are in place, but the software and/or hardware needs to be battle-tested for last minute bugs, what most people who play MMOs are used to seeing.
