This is the point people are trying to make that don't like madness. It's tedious and not fun.

Well I'm not saying it shouldn't be reviewed, but I don't see that it's a major problem. I bet I could get 50 pine cones in 6 minutes if I really tried, and I would be pretty much madness-proof for three days. That's 2 minutes of effort per day. You could probably stretch those 50 pine cones to last a whole week if you do any other madness-lowering activities, like gardening, sifting (getting gems), or flower picking.

Your typical "daily" quest in WoW took well over 2 minutes, and there were tons of them.

Daily quest offer real rewards in wow and were not required if you didn't want to do them.

Not everyone wants salem to be a full time farming job. I hate farming to a large extreme. I mostly mine and hunt in the darkness. No amount of pinecones is going to help me and i have 100% zero use of them if I wasn't playing like I am.

You also keep saying that those activities lower madness which isn't true at all.

1st
*again* trees are bugged so not sure if those pine cones would ever respawn right now

2nd
6 minutes for 3 days is not true..... *AGAIN*.... you gain a madness level every 4 hours...... did you not read my post?

3rd
.... and the whole point of this post... is we have NO IDEA how many "pinecones we have to roast" in order to get our madness to zero.
it is like trying to figure out if a cut on your back is fully healed but no one will tell you or lend you a mirror.

as an added note.... you seem to do less to combat insanity then me.... how ***** have you not gained a madness level already?
either that or your a lying peace of **** like most the people that have commented in here.

Well if the trees are bugged I thank you for your help but again man.. everything you post sounds like a cry. If you want to help the game get better find a better way to help out like in bug reports that way the developers will probably pay more atention to your cries and people wouldnt troll you.

Well, I just don't get why I have such an easy time not gaining Insanity.

I've gained three madness levels since I started playing. Two during my first week, and one as a fluke when I found tons of Traces of the Lost Colony leveling a base expansion area. I only started doing the pine cone thing when I started mining a lot, since I figured sifting out a handful of gems every once in a while wasn't going to cut it.

I'm not criticizing you guys. But if your madness is 0 and you carry some pine cones and have a fire source, you're gonna be fine. I'm not trying to poke and prod here.

Ah, how I have missed these threads. No insanity isn't going anywhere just because Tool Toormikun doesn't like it. No, I don't think we did the best we could with the mechanic, but that is true at just about every step in our Roadmap and I'm optimistic that we improved the status quo and with a few more go-overs could really get somewhere. I have already implemented a check to the passive insanity gain in the next patch that is going to get a fresh account quite a few hours of 'insanity-free' play. This way new players won't have to deal with the passive gains until they have some time to get the other systems under their belt. From there though, I have no immediately solutions nor do I feel insanity is the most pressing matter at hand.

nope, deva already told me i was at 0 insanity and that 1 level of madness is every 4 hours...

because every one i played with quit because of this ***** **** stolen from an other game....

let me guess... insperationals and gluttony....
while chaning gluttony could inspire MEANINGFUL raiding i think TBC would be considered a more pressing matter.... but doesn't matter if no one plays because they don't want to deal with the stupid madness. >.>

Tool, please stop crying and Please stop interpretations of dev information in such a way that they fit on your statements.

Yes, you can gain a madness level every 4 hour if you do NOTHING while you are online.
Let me count... ahh yes:

Please do us a favor an stay online with your Main and some of your best Alts around 40, better 48 Hours without doing anything.

well then i would have no reason to get off the forums except to sleep... at least right now i have to login to let the teddybear restart the next 8 hours for the next madness level to go down..... but then it is back to the forums... falling asleep while i wait for you slow pokes to try and fool people in to thinking madness dosn't ***** up the game.
