Any Haven vets want to comment on how the Salem map compares to the Haven map sizewise?

I read Darwoths reasoning on why the map is too big and found his concerns legitimate. I didn't consider the problems insurmountable and additionally, when we eventually start seeing updates again, I'm guessing it won't be long before we get better modes of transportation.

It's my personal opinion that making so much noise about map size is detrimental, as there are other things which would make the Salem gameplay experience much more pleasurable than it is currently.

That list of priorities, in my mind, involves siege mechanics, combat mechanics and productive things to do in between gluttony sessions. Not that it matters, as the mods are likely to update what they feel like updating, when they feel like updating it.

When I'm not trolling I can participate in reasonable debate, so I'm interested in your reasons why the map size should be a high priority. I of course play the game quite differently to most of the tribe, so alternate perspectives are interesting. I won't buy into Peeps trolling though,

The Map is pretty big for the population is the only problem. If 1000 people were playing, it would be fine. I wish they had some of the Haven travel options though.

As the river rolled over the cliffs, my own laughing joy was drowned out by the roaring deluge of the water. The great cataract of Darwoth's Tears fell over and over endlessly.

The map is too large to not have teleports the way they are in Haven. The reason why people didn't ***** about crossing numerous supergrids to go raid some other town across the world is because a lot of the journey could be cut short by crossroads systems/"outposts" scattered about. I imagine when (lol, as if we'll be getting updates) Salem gets better travel methods, the map size won't be too bad.

The canoe was quite an increasement already. Image what horses would do, and the map is fine this way in my eyes.

Horses would be great, but they're barely even faster than run speed, so it would do very little to solve the current map crisis.

Autorun would be nice. Bonus points if it could dodge trees and walk into lakes where it would drown.
