Oh please, there is a PM function that you can use for private matters.

If you're so well versed in the way of the game, please explain in more detail, how and why the madness is making the game un-enjoyable for you.

It seems you're doing something very wrong, and you're clearly not doing anything to prevent your insanity from growing.

I have had my new character for over a month, I play around 6hours per day minimum, and I have not gained a single madness level. All it takes is for you to study a few inspirationals per hour ( which you should be doing anyway imo )

Please don't call the game un-enjoyable when you clearly don't even understand how this mechanic works. Oh and by the way, read this: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13907

I always find these fanboy responses interesting. The fact that you would defend a game mechanic that's only purpose is to grief the players is just odd. Yes if you actively study every 10-15 mins you can avoid the madness. Yes you can try tobacco or hookah when you get it to remove it. It does not mean it is good.

Even if I am not getting madness this mechanic in no way adds to the enjoyment of the game, and as I have suggested to me it greatly detracts from the game. Maybe if it was caused by some witch antics, but in its current form it is just an annoyance - tears for JC.

But the thing is, I don't understand HOW this grief's the players in any way, considering i'm playing non-stop and havn't been bothered by the madness even once.

If you could clarify why it is an issue, please do.

Happy to.

I am always studying, trying to improve some skill and I rarely have a lot of excess inspiration. Having to always have items on me, and 'watching the clock' to study is a pain (my opinion). This is the best way to avoid the madness, but the game forces me to do this, I am not doing it by choice. I likely would do the same studying, but when I want to, not in the middle of planting a field or leveling an area.

As I recall madness was added to punish afk players, or bots, etc. Often these steps really don't work as a serious bot'r will get around it and people now log off.

The insanity/madness mechanic does not add any value or enjoyment to the game for me. It requires you to play a certain way to avoid the penalty so (again in my opinion) it is punishing people that study a couple times a day vs. ever 15 minutes. It punishes people that go afk vs logging off.

So if this mechanic was added to reduce afk players, reduce boting, or fix something - it would be nice to hear "See folks - this is what we fixed" but I have not seen that. All I have seen is them say "deal with it" and others say "L2P - its easy. If you suck so much find another game" My gut tells me this mechanic would be a lot better if there was a good reason for it other than to grief the player-base (i.e. force me to study every 15 mins). I honestly thought it was going to be witch related.

Insanity/Madness and disease mainly hurt new players or players unwilling to change their play-style. Driving off new players is just stupid (but common here it seems) and if you are trying to change peoples play-styles what is the reason?
