Server down?

Is there any reason in particular that I log in to find my toon missing all clothes, tools, and everything in my inventory?

I'm screwed, I upgraded my house just before which meant I had to declaim to move the stone. My keys are missing along with everything else so I'm trapped in my home. I have no claim stone and cant build a leanto as have no logs without getting outside. Anyone else had the mods rob them when the server was down or am I just getting "special" treatment?

If you log out with out a homestead, you will drop all your things. It's a measure to prevent being able to keep things safely on a character forever with no chance of them being stolen. If you declaimed your homestead and didn't switch to a leanto or a new stone, that's probably what happened.

I wouldn't have logged out if I had a choice. The server crashed and forced me. I am locked in. no access to wood to make leanto to port to prov.
What a nightmare.

edit- I luckily my silver wasn't on me, but even if I go to Prov and buy stuff and cut a bit of wood I will have nowhere to go back to. I have a claim script on me, but I was just about to cut 5 stone, then crash.

You could ask devs to help since it might not be your fault (who knows maybe marp will help).
If you have a friend near by ask him to smash the wall for you (or pay a stranger though he might kill you).
Port to prov and go back to your base you can than smash the wall yourself or wait for the decay to do it for you

The devs will see this thread I'm hoping and help if possible.
I have no friends nearby.
I cant port to Prov as I have nowhere to come back to with no claim.
I am unable to break walls myself as no claim over them.

Damn it, worked hard to get where I am. So frustrating to get done over like this.

I never tried it but you should be able to port to Providence even if you dont have a homestead, walking or riding back might be a problem though, especially if you dont know were your base is

I wont be able to make it back on foot I don't think.

You can send a new character there by adding your character by HS, then inviting to party via the buddy list and following the arrow until you get to where your base is.

You may have to go in and out of the house a couple times or log on/off now and then since when you're really far away it places the blip on the radar directly towards the real location but not as far, so if you get close to the blip it might steer you off course... Just log on/off or rejoin the party every 30 minutes or so just in case, maybe someone more veteran can correct me here.

Once you get there build a claim with your alt and then tear down the gate (you'll have to anyways if you lost the key). Then tear down the claimstone and rebuild it in the base. Kind of an annoying loss but think of it as a learning experience Always have alts, keep a key alt, always have a homestead, etc, etc... Many precautions could have been taken but hey, that's how you learn

Plus you get to look for abandoned bases and such on the way and maybe even have a half decent alt by the time he gets there from glutting/studying what you find, maybe you'll find a canoe or two ^_^

You might be a bit optimistic there. But worst case, the alt can at least act as a pointer for his main to go to town and then walk / outpost port back.

Luckily I do have an alt from my previous base which is a goodly distance away but better than walking from Prov. He's basicaly a new character though.
I'll sort it one way or another now I know the arrow trick with party. Thanks.
