Looking for an active group in Popham :)

Postby Raspy » Tue Jul 07, 2015 2:15 pm

Good day all!

I am a returning player (from beta and old server) and I would like to join a town/village to experience some kind of community here in Salem. I've been a hermit before and needless to say, I eventually got bored and left the game. However, some few weeks back, I've read somewhere about Salem's release and a new server. So, I decided to come back. I created a new toon and restarted playing since last week, just to get to the gist of the game again before joining in a village.

I am very interested in joining a PvP-oriented village or a witch village, which intrigues me very much. Though, I think my new toon may not be yet suited to become a witch. I would also like to enjoy and learn the game in-greater detail like the existing defense mechanisms , raids, tips and tricks to the efficient use of inspirationals, best food combination for increasing each humour and the like. Simply, some information that the (out-dated, a little) wiki does not provide. Perhaps, if there aren't any PvP-oriented or witch villages that are open and interested to recruit me in their group, I'll gladly join in casual villages too. :D

So, in exchange for your hospitality, I am willing to:
- Follow whatever rules you have
- Help the village in any way I can may it be in-kind or silver
- Improve toon to be an asset for the village
- Use Voice Comms such as Mumble, TeamSpeak and so on whenever possible (P.S. English is not my native language *tee hee*)

Unless you know someone personally, you are highly unlikely to get into any popham groups, fyi. The server revolves around pvp, backstabbing, and general nastiness. No one will trust you, and so no one will let you in. Your best bet is to find someone in a providence town to join and gain trust with and join them on the next expedition.

Speek for yourself, Atreties. Lots of players though not trusting per se, are willing to take risks on people.

per se*

Some might, sure. But only some. That's why I said unlikely... because it's unlikely.

Sorry. On mobile. Already had those edits up before I saw your reply. I don't want to be confrontational, but let me explain what I meant.

I find it frustrating when people represent the community for this game as being unkind, instead of the game itself. To say that Popham revolves around nastiness dismisses the other draws of that server, like that all the players are on roughly the same footing right now, or the increased meaning that the statues lend to exploration, the early release of new features. This is a vibrant game and I feel your view, when espoused as the view of the community, lessens it.

I'm fine with you saying that you wouldn't trust someone. But please, as I said, speak for yourself.

Sorry for derail. Raspy, my hearth secret is "lonely". Can't promise I'm a good fit, but we can talk.

Thanks for the replies guys. Though I'm not sure if the community is indeed "nasty" just like Atreties stated or just some players.
