[New Player]Looking for Town

Postby Rh1ne5tone5 » Tue Dec 23, 2014 4:39 am

Hello! I go by Roo, Ulm, and Rh1ne and I just started playing Salem about two days ago. It's a fun game, but I can't really grasp all the mechanics. The town system in Salem is also interesting so I thought: "Why not kill two birds with one flint? I can try to join a town and learn more about Salem." So please, if you would PM me or just talk to me here about joining your town. I have experience in clans (Minecraft) but that is about as far it goes. So thanks for looking this over.

Welcome. Salem is quite unique. You will find that in order to join towns in this game you will have to prove to the people that you are worth the 'risk' of another mouth to feed. I would suggest telling people a bit more about yourself and give them an idea of what kind of labor you can contribute in exchange for this knowledge you seek.

Hmmmm. Well let's start with the basics: I am 15 year old living in the U.S (EST) and I enjoy Video Games as a hobby and as a passion. I have a background in Political Organization and the running of 30+ people governments ( I have lead various clans on Minecraft. Two I founded myself and the one I was granted the title of King) I don't mind doing the basic labor (Digging, collecting wood) and can do that for a quite a few hours. Something I would want out of the town I join is to be taught how to play Salem, how it's governments work, and just a place to hang out with some cool people.

Well there is an unofficial vent channel over here

That typically has some folks in it who don't mind answering some questions. You might want to check it out.

I would advise spending a lot of time reading the forums.

This thread is good for taking note of some major changes that just hit Salem. The crafting may be similar to Minecraft, but the permadeath is a far step away. One wrong move and you can lose the character you spent the last month building. Paranoia is the name of the game, and it is a major hurdle in joining up with other players. Use the search function to find topics you need to learn about, and use the help topic for things you can't find.
