CGcookie Blender basics

Check this out. You might have to register to see it, but this course is free and it walks you through the Blender interface.

Kandarim wrote:maya is free too, last time I checked. Autodesk 3DS max is the holy grail, but rather expensive.
I typically work with Blender, but the interface tends to be cluttered and confusing for first-time users.

My point is not the interface at blender - i still know the basics. Not much, but much enough to create a simple 3D model.
But i can't just not handle the extracted fileformat from Salem-Models to import them into Blender.

Maybe i should ask Marp, how it works :D

does anyone know the code for arcane amethyst?

Code: Select all
[item]amethyst[/item]

amethyst

only gives this lump of whatever this is, not the Amethyst like it looks here

How can I find a list of the item names on Linux? There is no Salem>Cache>res folder only Salem>Cache and then xml files of what has been loaded in game.

In case you're new to Linux (like me) here's the solution I was given by Qiresea:

In terminal:
(Replace USER with the username of your linux account)
Code: Select all
cd /home/USER
ll -a

If there's a .salem folder then continue with:

Code: Select all
cd .salem
cd cache
cd res
cd gfx
cd invobjs
ls

Now you should see a list of all items except herbs!

To view the herbs:
Repeat the above steps to the point of cd invobjs
After cd invobjs do:
Code: Select all
cd herbs
ls

The instructions for using these item names to embed their image in a forum post are at the beginning of this thread.
