Did you build a claim-stone inside the walls or were you still only using a leanto ?
Your defenses will not fire on invaders if your land is not covered by a personal claim (claim-stone) and the claim's coverage needs to extend at least one tile beyond any walls or gates that you want protected.

Either way, leaving deteriorating walls visible to anyone passing by is just an invitation to be raided.
You can repair stone walls with granite, it is one of the easier walls to repair.

Is that a claimstone in the center of that pic?

Looks like the claim only extends up to that mannequin.

In that case, no one even committed a crime, none of that stuff was claimed to be yours.
