this group has been playing as long as i have, and have been using this very same tactic against myself and other folks for years are now complaining about it. this tactic has been in since they changed claims to even have a gap in the first place under jorb and loftar (which never should of happened either) it was always considered legit since you could pick the object up. this is why since alpha of this game everyone makes a corner of their claim touch a river or something on a new server.

they also broke several other longtime "rules and standards" for starting a new server i wont go over, there is also an easy counter that i also wont go over so as not to influence the outcome of heffernan vs judaism

Jorb and Loftar have attempted to tackle this some problem since the start of haven and hearth legacy, they gap was developed there and brought to salem. They had a similiar response to JC, and were open to a solution to fix it without drastic further gamebreaking rules. This is where imminent domain came from, which also came from legacy haven where you could do the same.
My solution is, and this might be a stretch. Allow for claims to have a grace period of around (except on town claim) any 15 tiles out from boundry of claim, may not have another. (Have an option in claim menu to turn off) This would cause it to be to costly to truly try to block another claim, and objects affect player such as the crabs on a stick we did wont have to much of an affect. (Took this idea from Trial Members in Town)

My 2nd idea would be: Claim drain, claims next to each other drain each other. A claim much larger than another would have a drastically larger drain, making it worthless to keep up in order to block another claim. In the claim settings, similiar to setting perms. You should be able to choose which color the drain wont affect, on town claims the drains shouldnt affect other town members.

Similar to Salvage, the claims menu really need a rework and allow for more permission, such as allowing for destruction and building, but not salvage. Salvage would be a separate permission.

We are only complaining about it because it specifically became illegal, we've had numerous of our efforts torched down in the past, had a clear response from both JC and Marp and ever since have not attempted these structures again.

So the reason why your team doesnt engage in pvp with other factions is because they are busy crafting shoes and pants? Kinda sad, especially when a guy is asking you a 1vs2 and your team is scared

lol your team's initial way of getting on the board was scalping them-self after they died during a bloodmoon
