Basically this. I've been wrestling with the idea of the Boad-Gate as i'm calling it as its throttling my own base and progression as well. But I cannot bring myself to adjust it because I feel the 'shifting' battle-scape if you will based on mechanics that are going too slowly is not only intended but a nice thing in general.

As pointed out. Those hovels could be salvaged, those logs could be lifted, those pclaims themselves will be eminent domain-able in closer to a week than the 20 days claimed. The players who are whipping in the stocks invested far more in grinding alts to SM than the offenders lost in biles. And being stocked takes you out of the game for (1) Hour. FFS if you can't win with 23 of the 24 hours in a day, then news flash, you are out of your league.

I'll continue to monitor the situation but suffice to say I see absolutely no issues so far. The communists are using clever, but completely legitimate mechanics based on where we are in the server and the Kapitalists brought it on themselves as has been claimed by
A) Choosing a poor base location thinking they were so tough they could be that close to town.
B) Not murdering the players who set up an operation right on the edge of it.
C) Leaving scents on characters housed at this location or somehow otherwise letting the communists know that was their base of operations.

IT should be no surprise as it has been the culture of Salem from the beginning that keeping your main base of operations out of the line of fire is half the battle. If you are prepared to 'reveal' it then you must also be prepared to defend it. If you were not prepared to defend your base via a P-Claim assault iwth a bell (I.E. no Dry Boards yet). Then why did you in fact allow the enemy to know where it was?

For the record if expeditions didn't have a single crime for 10 days, then ramped up into an all-out war from there I would be just as happy. You guys trying to accelerate the drama during a period where user numbers are still increasing and people are just now finding out about the expedition in the first place is fine with me as well but its not my intention that if you are 3 days late to the party some group has cannons and/or mechanics to shut down every other mechanic that quickly. Grind it out and be patient.

Props to Kapitalists for accepting this for the battle that it is and still focusing on the over-arching war.

LET THY BE WARNED. As mentioned yesterday, we will keep dealing with these filthy noobs.

Another white haired scalp, quite low which means they're so extremely underdeveloped, alongside the recent post of JC in the community hub we can be sure of it.

I remember being told explicitly in the past that using any object (includong, and specifically hallow logs, and larger houses) to bridge a claim gap in such a way that scents had to be left to remove them (even when the defenders HAD a bell) was against the rules and a nuke-able offence.

That said bring on the tears, ¦]

Same, but then again these developers have always been inconsistent. It is the reason why I dislike them so much, they change their mind whenever they feel fit. Nevertheless they're only low effort pity pay to win crimes, bragging about such matters is rather silly when we have murdered over 5 of their characters by now, looted 1000's of silver, set them back days and stolen numerous store packages.

Or its a small dev team tackling an entire game of people, attempting to hit each bug or poorly mechanically designed portion of the game at a time.

That does seem like a reasonable solution and one I'm embarrassed to say I had not put too much thought in prior to all this. It is intended to 'grief' to an extent with pclaims but I think a few more tile cap would still allow the mechanic to be interesting without the small loopholes of overlapping buildings, logs, etc. etc. I'm open to this.

since i am pre occupied with things such as feeding pigs on providence to play the expedition this time around this appears to be what in the "old days" would have been declared a case of "to bad"

this group has been playing as long as i have, and have been using this very same tactic against myself and other folks for years are now complaining about it. this tactic has been in since they changed claims to even have a gap in the first place under jorb and loftar (which never should of happened either) it was always considered legit since you could pick the object up. this is why since alpha of this game everyone makes a corner of their claim touch a river or something on a new server.

they also broke several other longtime "rules and standards" for starting a new server i wont go over, there is also an easy counter that i also wont go over so as not to influence the outcome of heffernan vs judaism
