I wanted to cover the edge of the pavings so it won't show when you look at it from the side.

I think you should pretty much find another game because as is this now, you are pretty much just wasting time.
Pclaim is essential part of the game . If you do not want it for defensive purposes, atleast get one so your effort in building things do not disseapear.
