Archive your account info - close call

Almost ended my own existence today.

Somehow I lost my Latikai (?) start up screen had to regurgitate my accounts from memory; and for the life of me I couldn't remember!!!

Imagine needing all your important numbers and losing your cell phone or PDA... how much do you really keep track of? So many gadgets and such; speed dial; etc... we can all get lazy...and then it's gone and what do we have?

How sad to lose both Main and others... because I couldn't log in or couldn't remember rarely used email accounts?

Suggest everyone, even if you have a single account to save you info and stick it in the cloud, notepad file, etc; and remember to update it periodically. Especially if you take a break from the game.

I almost lost my most developed character- fortunately I'd mentioned it in PM's elsewhere and I was able to recover.

Each account requires its own email account; so if you can't remember name or email you are screwed on game's account recovery. Toon name's don't help as far as I can see.

Two cents.

You should be able to use the same email for all your accounts. I suggest changing them all to whatever your main email is. Also, if you have logged in to the forum on an account, it uses the same name and password as the game so chances are the info is saved in your browser, if you save passwords that way.

Then that's a change- I was under the impression each account required its own email account.

I suppose that would make it easier to ban one?

Thanks for the info; I'll consider it.

It was different several years ago when you needed a beta key. You might be remembering that. It has no effect on banning.

True- save when logging in... that's why each ban notice has the warning ' about all accounts '... or was that just for me?

I'd rather have a few accounts available for PM's... which I would not have if all were under the same account [that was banned] as you suggest.

I believe that's why I will resist the temptation to consolidate and leave things as they are; until you as Web Manager figure out how to separate the two functions!

Thanks.

PS Thanks for acknowledging indirectly that I've been around a long while. I know some of my ideas and such are far-fetched; but I've been around a long time...

Same. People think it's weird I use ledgers and always have a pocket notebook on me.

Used to have sticky notes all over the edge of my monitor with important information on them. I don't have to keep track of as much stuff anymore, but that old monitor sitting in the closet still has all those sticky notes attached to it.

Wondering if saltmummy = erqueen-tr

Share the same passions seemingly... never see both posting same topic. Both eaiser antagonistic for me... salt-mummy w/o the least history to substantiate some long held views...a new player could not possibly have history of. A bit too knowledgeable for a truly new player.

Even if not Erqueen-tr, still someone who's hiding behind a 'new' name.

Cheers (*****)

People with known multiple accounts are warned out of courtesy so we don't have to ban all of them, so you can be free to PM moderators with questions during your ban. Like I just said, email has nothing to do with banning. They are, and always have been, separate.

Reading your posts always makes me feel like I've had a bucket of mud dumped on my head. :( No, saltmummy is not er-queent8r and has been around for a long time, no need to spread your evil even further.
