Beligerant missing mayor -

What to do when the Mayor skips town via his bed.

Several of us are in a township. The land was first owned by my hubby, as a claim which still exists in the township. A friend came along who decided to stay with us and in the end put up a town bell which they are the mayor now. This person who chose to be mayor, now no longer plays and has left it in their name as a sarcastic reminder they are gone... thus leaving expanding the township and other things rather gimped. What can we do as the township community to take over the bell?

Any ideas and suggestions on how to properly proceed gaining control of the bell are appreciated. I believe I have the skills necessary for a trial by fire but not sure that is appropriate and if it would work to drain the bell influence allowing us to take it over in this person's absence? Their leanto is also still on the property...and so is their bed with them in it, taking up space...

This post is more appropriate in he Help section.

Anyway you need the mayor dead to take your bell. I think you just need to destroy his leanto, but let anyone confirm this. The bed in my experience remained graphically occupied and couldn't be used to sleep or to lift, but could be destroyed.

Of course you would need permission to destroy stuff in your town (or in the pClaim area if the leanto is claimed). You can destroy a leanto used as a homestead without scents only pClaiming it first.

Can't you just wait for the town bell to run out of money to be able to change ownership?

This let the authority dwindle down then you should be able to take mayor-ship provided you have the right skill.

Then kick him from the town after you add money to the bell. Then put a wall around his bed then destroy it. Slap a personal claim on the area and give him rights to trespass but nothing else. Watch him suffer as he is unable to log out in the town and dies of madness.

if it's just the central bell (and no flags/boundry stones) its silver should last for approx. 2 weeks from the last filling. After that, you should be able to claim mayorship yourselves.
You can check with ctrl+P how much silver is still in the bell.

Why waiting? The mayor deserves to be dead. He asked for it.

You can destroy the townbell even if it has silver in it
