I've heard it both ways now. Maybe we can get something definitive. Some people are saying that it doesn't matter what level you chip rubble on to get amethysts and some are saying that you get more if you chip rubble deeper.

I'll go first. I've only found amethysts on level 5, 6 and 7 but have barely tried on level 1 or the lower levels.

Has anyone gotten an amethysts while chipping on level 1? ...or 2?

From my understanding it is purely random, but I could be wrong.
I only mine the rubble on level 1 and I have gotten a few of them.

Any. You will have better results at the top layers due to walking time to water.

Good to Know. This seems to be what most people are saying but I still haven't found anyone that found an amethyst on level 1 or 2. Have you actually found one or know anyone that's found one at level 1 or only at other higher levels.
