After my first adventure into a whale, i also wondered this.

You cant drop a canoe while swimming, and even with high biles and Long Distance Swimming + Tea, making it to shore is pretty hard to do..

My guess is that its a team effort, 2 or more people go out to find a whale, one jumps in while the other rows along with the whale, the inside guy does his thing and gets **** out, swims to the first guy and climbs on to the boat.

But, as a Hermit.. Whales are pretty hard to tackle.. was that intended?

You might add pockets to your gear if that is a dedicated whale hunter. You don't lose items in your pockets upon KO.

Just got greedy, double weight and then tried to swim an unknown amount.
