I mean houses don't just fall without something breaking or alerting the people inside, not like people are taking wrecking balls to houses to KO players, just my thoughts on it.

u shouldnt talk about realism in this game whilst u can teleport to and from a town, or trace items a few 1000 kilometers. (right jc?)

The main issue is the inconsitency. Most other structures are immune to destruction, you've admitted you'll fix a vulnerable house, so intended seems like a word to serve as damage control.

If it's intended you wouldn't be willing to fix them at all. If the name of the game is "have a slice of paranoia", then surely a more elegant solution could be found for that, without the need to call every unpolished side-effect an "intended mechanic". Meanwhile, you've spared us the horror of "Salem, the running simulator" and instead want to institute "Salem, the check every rock in case it hides a nuke that might kill you" simulator. Nevermind alt vaults, we'll need all those alts to check every pixel for potential dangers before we even HOPE of actually going to town to interact with other people.

i am amused that people start complaining about these things just because the developers are new, this general standpoint is the one that has been taken since the games inception with both seatribe and mm not to mention the entire history of haven as well.

the new developers are far more benevolent about these matters than the old ones, usually addressing the problem fairly quickly and nobody ***** then so why now?

and sure, lets give a cracked ceiling particle effect. the same day that a barrel of gunpowder will 100% one when touched off.

well does this mean you disagree with my statement? Or am I correct in stating there should be some animation to alert people inside the house is being destroyed. I certainly will be avoiding houses as much as possible now that I know that can happen

Hon, people been complaining since the game came out, you of all people should know this. Don't act like you don't cry like a baby on the forums every time some bug affects you in an unfair manner or when something unfair happens, that's why the forums are here to share our thoughts, feelings and emotional drama depending on the section of the forums :P

Have to agree John you lost a lot of Rep with this topic. this will never be anything more than a pet project destined to fail. Why worry about a tutorial? People won't stay around long enough to get into this game. You cater to much to the perma death, that anyone in their right mind wont waste time building up something to just lose it in an hour or two from the ones who will do nothing but run around doing their best to run off new players.
It's a darn shame you can't find a happy medium for both sides, those who grief and those who enjoy the other aspects of the game. I know after reading your posts here I have lost a lot of respect for you.

@Argost The permadeath system is completely fine, people play this game because deep down they like the fact that something dangerous could potentially happen, it adds thrill to the game and realism. However players also want a fair chance when being hunted, which is why the house issue even came up. I've never personally had an issue with it but it does sound like a broken mechanic that could drive away new players. Personally if it doesn't get changed I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, I just won't be entering any houses on any character I have any work put into :P
