Just trying to get in sync with the game:

- Am I to understand that it is possible/probable, that at some point, some people will come to my settlement and request that I join a group or sign a treaty, and if I do not join/sign, I will be killed?

- If that does happen, will my settlement be raided or destroyed?

- Will my alts be killed as well?

It is possible (except they will kill you on spot without offering you anything) but it is highly improbable if you follow few simple guidelines on avoiding attention.
