Letting a group of 17 raiders completely overpower an obliterate a defender under any other circumstance would be, and was, broken.

But 1 player being able to build a TBC vault that 17 players can't break in then kill then one by one easily is not broken.

maybe if 1 player can outplay 17 players it just means these 17 suck and should work on increasing there stats/skills?

It's not retarded, because he has a use for the hand he chops off.

As someone who has killed/died more then most people, i personally don't understand why there is so much hate towards the new system. i've made more then a handful of silver with all of my rangering/murder alts to last me a lifetime. Most of them can bash through stone-hedge pretty easily i just search bases that have criminals harbored, put them in the stocks bash their base for its goodies, then just summon them after, get another criminal kill, and all is good. If i lose the character to a tbc oh well, my fault for doing the crime to begin with, and most of the loot i get for a throwaway char far outweighs the cost of a 3 hour berrymash/mescaline 100 humor stat alt that i can make about 3 of in a day. Now goes without saying you need to be very well established to be able to pump out alts at that rate because you spend quite a bit of time aside from feeding/leveling the alt to begin with having to either buy the pots or craft them yourselves, on top of getting all the necessary inspirationals, so i think it's pretty balanced that active defenders have the advantage if they have put hours upon hours fortifying their base, and haven't done crimes. If the person truly deserves to die then they would most likely have done a crime and can just be tbc, if you are letting words hurt you in this game, and that is your means for revenge well then maybe Salem isn't for you since the majority of the community is very hostile, myself include, and i honestly wouldn't have this amazingly precious jewel of a game any other way.

TLDR: Salem isn't known for being easy.

So you a breaking in pre patch bases with stonewall and maybe 1 or 2 braziers and you called that raiding. It takes 330+ biles to break a brick wall so if you want to raid a villages with a brick wall you have to gather alot of people with 330 biles and you still may be unable to break in if there are defenders . Then anyone can collect the scents build a TBC vault in 2 hours and murder you all easily since it would be impossible to break in the vault in a reasonable amount of time.

Those stories of making three 100-bile alts per day or 70-bile alt in half an hour always make me raise an eyebrow. How much truth is in it? I'd say that gluttoning and skilling proficiencies might take as little time. But then you have to prepare all this food and inspirationals.

before meat/metal was reset a 100 stat character with black skills is the equivalent of one load of smoked meat (i run 50 smokers) about 2 glutt pots if you dont want to wait a few hours to spread the gluttoning, 4 rubbery mescalines and the relevant inspirationals.

a 50 stat musket alt is a 10 minute character because you are only spiking blood to absorb some damage while you take shots.

the above assumes you have significant infrastructure and storage in place, personally i keep a stockpile of 600+ of each type of smoked meat and dried fish along with 2+ sheds of insp and glutt pots so that i can bang out a character for a specific task right away if i need to.

anyway bit slower now with ***** for a while, but still no big deal. which was the intention of smoked meats. dried fish, dehydrated berries etc being given the small timer, so that lower end characters took less time to produce.
