Hey people, do not you think that such things break game balance? At this moment gap between old and new players is very huge, and after appearance of animals gap will turn into abyss. If you just start you will need about a year to get character with 1000+ biles, but old players like Darwoth can do these character in one day. How can I compete with them?

It doesn't take a year to make it. It takes a year to make it from scratch. Build a base and get your system of making a character up. Old players have more power and should, they put the work in.

Also, keep in mind, 1000+ humor chars don't necessarily run around raiding people, those are generally much smaller chars, which you can compete with. Plus there are numerous other tactics that can be used to defeat players.

Plus, Darwoth did this from scratch on Popham. The server has been around a year, but he hasn't been active on it for a year. So it was a chance for anyone, but few took advantage of it.

Chances are if you get on a vets radar, they can probably take you out with a much smaller character even if you had 1000 humors.

i did not play on popham for the first 6 months it existed, i went there and killed every competitor off in under three weeks with a 200 stat character and a base that was basically a pile of rocks held together with turkey ****. all of the time since then has just been me derping around on the server until the devs rl schedule cleared up and they came back since there was no point in ending it until the next one is at least being worked on.

i have killed 600 stat characters with 50 stat characters.

the "titan" characters you are concerned about are very selectively used and typically reserved for defense, the average stat level for offensive characters are far lower both categories do not waste their time on newbie bases.

if you knew how to play the game starting from scratch right now today you could have a thousand stat character in approximately two months maybe less.

learn how the game works before complaining about it, and if you want animals feed me.

1000 humours won't take a year unless you start from scratch knowledge wise. After you learn what works and what doesn't it'll take a few months unless you're lazy like me >.> On that note though, I too wish I could have equal opportunities of winning at basketball against shaq, so .. i say nerf shaq too! xD

Balance =/= equal opportunities for all. Just means that you can catch up to him faster than he can progress at higher humours. Meanwhile firearms and small groups of well organized people can still take out a biggun. Don't get discouraged, just enjoy the roguelike nature of the game.

From what i learned, its not about a raider/main stats but all about production and your base.

I'm not surprised that Darwoth was able to defeat everyone on Pophame because he plays from the start of Salem and he is one of the best players. But of course I am referring to a fresh start with zero knowledge, that is quite a new player. In fact, he immediately falls into a pool with piranhas moreover he did not even know how to swim. Of course, someone can say that Salem hard game and it is not suitable for everyone. But now here only 100 players who have been playing for several years and there is no influx of fresh blood.

within my first two hours of ever playing the game i got zerged by a whole town of tards as i was gathering salt on the beach and killed them all 5 days later, it is about thinking outside the box more than anything else.

JohnSnow, humors and equipment help, but even a tiny trash alt can infiltrate a town and steal their best stuff, I've seen it happen. Salem is all about taking opportunities and clever thinking and not being afraid to jump into the fray. You're also protected by the fact that if your claim doesn't look profitable, you won't have strong players wasting time raiding you, only ****** raiders, and you can defend against those with minimal effort.

While on the subject, what I can't figure out is how do you keep your crime Alts alive? It seems that every time you commit a crime and the victim is somewhat active it seems they are condemned to the stocks and to death.
