Proceed with care, for the moment I think you didn't learn your lesson, things will go poorly for you.

MarpTarpton wrote:Sorry I wasn't around to answer this sooner. Allow me, if I may, to paint the scene of what transpired so that all may know the story as it was seen from my own eyes. And let this be a lesson to those who would feign ignorance of common concepts like decency and fair play that such behavior will not be tolerated and the villain of this tale got off very lucky indeed.
It began as most of my events do, at dock club. Energies were high and we had a fairly good turnout of competitors, all things considered. Of the competitors, the only two who I will name specifically for their involvement in dramatic portion of this story are Heffernan and Kuku. The match began, a free-for-all (the default form of dock club, no called out teams or anything like that. Now, anyone who has been at most dock clubs knows that I don't tolerate an obviously fixed fight. It's one thing to team up and finish out as a free-for-all, another completely to do something like have a 3v1 at the end, the 3 KO the 1, and then 2 of the 3 try to TP home after breaking combat. Always unacceptable. But as for the teaming up, it is what it is - just give the people a good show until the very end). The match was quite sporting and quite enjoyable to watch. Fighters began to drop, standard dock club fare.
And then something strange happened.
Heffernan's main KO'd and I ported him out with the rest of the recovering KO'd bodies. There were 4 characters in the ring - or so I thought. For suddenly while I was tending to the body of another fallen, there was another person in the ring wearing a bug hat. Per policy, the gates of dock club were closed. I checked the name of this character and account and I didn't recognize it. There are obstacles in dock club and I assumed he must have been hiding behind a hovel or something. I immediately messaged two observers and asked whether or not the bug hat character just ported in. While I was discussing the situation, the Bug hat character had been engaged in the fray and led to Kuku KOing. I ported Kuku out and resumed my discussions. At this time Kuku messaged me and asked why Heff was allowed to use two characters.
I immediately stopped the fight, sending the fighters to pens and locking the newcomer in combat so he couldn't escape. With a few deft keystrokes I found that this account was a member of Heffernan's town. The player messaged me and called me a "meanie." I asked if they were Heffernan. They responded in the affirmative. I asked why they thought this would be a good idea. Heffernan claimed he wasn't aware that it was against the rules. I KOd his character. I was going to call the match forfeit as a result of the cheating, but the remaining three fighters wanted to continue. I allowed the fight to continue with the remaining fighters and Kuku at full humours because of Heffernan's cheating assisting Kuku's KO.
While the combatants were eating pies I had baked just for this occasion (pumpkin, for her pleasure), I returned to Heffernan's combat alt, stole its clothes, broke its bones, and sent it home. I had considered delivering the KO'd form to Darwoth's island and leave it marooned but I had a fight to continue monitoring. During this time, though it isn't entirely relevant, another player KO'd one of the combatants by stomping through the wall. They also had their bones broken and were sent home. Once all three combatants and Kuku were back up to full, the fight recommenced. It was a very close match, but Kuku came away victorious and earned themselves a golden goose.
So ends the story of Heffernan's cheating on this day of dock club. I also left some surprises in Heffernan's town as a parting gift for having wasted my time. The citizens of Vatican City can thank their mayor and would take care in opening their chests. The moral of the tale: don't ***** with events.
As for the OP's position, I feel the butt is hurt. If what I did was abuse, you can expect more of it in the event I have to deal with similar situations in the future. If you feel I should have been better capable of predicting a logged off character logging in the ring half way through the match, I would remind you that despite my awesome powers in the game, the person behind this tophat-wearing toon is indeed human and does the best he can with the tools he has. And if you think that this human disposition and decision in general detracts from your enjoyment of what amounts to 3 hours of my Sunday spent for the community that I will never get back, then the OP is encouraged to stop attending events as they are clearly not for him.
