A lot of people in the salem community sure feel like that is a bug
as a matter of fact
I think it seems to be only JC&tribe&co that label it an "unintended outcome" rather than a bug.
I wonder why I would think that favoritism is going on

Actually, I think it's stupid and it shouldn't work that way. I thought it was changed long ago. However, if JohnCarver says that's the way it is, and that's the way it'll stay, then so be it. If he decides to change it, even better. Luckily I won't have to change my behavior as I would never have brought surprise gifts into my walls before, and I won't now.

I was arguing that your statement that the tribe has benefited greatly from JohnCarver's decisions is entirely wrong and I didn't mention this latest thing with mounts at all.

The fix in this case is simply to make the mechanic more refined and less sloppy. Not remove it or make it impossible.

Yes I noticed you are generally ignorant to the facts and the situation which is why I've made it a point not to even bother responding to most of your stuff.

I like that you reduced yourself to a pot-shot to try and invalidate what I was saying. I am quite honored. (considering "most of your stuff" is just in this thread, as other than that I haven't said anything towards you)

Any fix should allow the murder of the individual hiding - without leaving a scent. What if I choose to destroy the chest or chair he is hiding in? Hidden person is automatically dead. Permadeath FTW!

If somebody were to throw a chair over a wall to do a "wall jump" then I would have a completely different stance on the subject.

There is a meaningful difference between not liking the method, but liking the mechanic and intended consequences of said mechanic that you seem to have difficulty grasping. I don't like that it is immersion breaking that somehow a dude is hiding in a chair. I do like that stealing stuff comes with the risk of the guy you stole it from being inside of it.

And to answer RonpaulFTW. Yes it does seem reasonable that there should be some kind of penalty allowed for the person who is vigilant and realizes there is somebody inside the item.

i agree a proper trojan horse mechanic would be cool. This just is not one.

I think there should be a lot of risk involved, and ideally various items like chair, urn, chest, boat etc could have someone hiding in there.

I'm a bit confused. Are you not saying here that you like the mechanic with me, and then going even further to say you like the mechanic staying on a chair? I'm not convinced the chair is the right vehicle for this mechanic.

I like the idea of a trojan horse mechanic, but it should be done properly. This is not, and i'm sorry but having someone log in upon someone else's claim where they have no permissions, their character never walked in etc, through unintended means seems to me super buggy. That sort of thing should not be happening without being purposefully and carefully put into the game. I'd also like to point out again that meth was in no way at fault by his action of taking the chair inside because according to legitimate gameplay mechanics this should not have put him at risk.

For example, i don't want to worry that if i logged out in my own chair, i might be carried off to someone's prison. I should be safe on my own damn furniture! I don't care if a chair is one of the items usable for this. I think there should be a variety of options though, so a victim doesn't think 'omg he is trying to give me a chair! obvious trap is obvious'. I think cupboards would be a good option because if you find a cupboard at a reasonable distance, you tend to wana take it home. An option like 'hide inside' would be good. I think that if the item is destroyed, maybe the hidden character should come online. Ideally they shouldn't be able to remove the risk by summoning themselves home if they see victim has realised.
