Seems Legit

Greetings Salemites,
As many of you were aware, the Salem client required several nasty dialogue boxes and security warnings to be accepted before you were allowed to play. Some players, with higher security settings, found that they needed to adjust their settings entirely or make exceptions for this particular application just to run it. Threatened by the dreaded.

We are happy to announce that the default client is now free of such bondage and those who download it and run it shall be given a single box that once checked should never bother you again. Security Settings should no longer need to be lowered, and giant red text scaring all potential new players is no longer the first Salem experience.

Image

Please note that the first time running the Default client will take a bit longer as the new signed files must be downloaded. After that, subsequent launching should be much quicker.

The bad news, is none of you use the default client anyway so this is probably all pointless to you!

On a serious note, we felt it was not exactly the correct priority for us to focus on the Default client updates before we got our Code Signed and authorized. With that now out of the way, the chains are lifted and we may now begin investing effort into making the default client something you loathe less.

P.S. First Major patch still scheduled to be on or before July 4th.

At least we won't be seeing potential new players fleeing from angry security boxes without a "go away" button!

Omg, I like your windows skin!

Aside from that: good, I guess. I doubt it makes such a huge impact, as most windows users are by now trained to always click yes on security warnings/questions (darn UAC).
