the next BIG update will problably happen in our first expedition

Something along the lines of "Don't worry, you'll get your animals before launch" was said. They did also say it'd be nice to test the whole expedition thing before throwing one at the general public at launch. So i'm presuming both will happen before launch, but maybe that's just wishful thinking

As they said in the 'Name the Expedition' post, the first expedition will be animal husbandry - so if you want your farm animals you had better be ready to head on off to the new server to round some up for your home back in Providence. I think JC also said that once the expedition is over (depending on the witch's) then farm animals will be obtainable directly from Providence.
