Happened to me to, thought i left some unpure bars by misstake.
Ninja nerf of iron smelting i guess. No more lime/ore - pure ore cycles :(

When did this start happening?
I have been smelting ore yesterday and it came out fine.

Have you guys tried making purer smelters and coal?

Guys did you try to smelt copper with iron? Maybe it adds up like lime and now we have some mighty cheap iron? :)

Edit: Bubba - it happened this morning to me. I'm not sure is it one time thing or the devs changed the smelting system.

I put 16% purity iron ore in and got a 3% and an 11% purity metal bar in return. IPurity of the lime was random, but not very high of course (0%-3%).

I normally get 2x10% purity metal bars.

Can someone clarify what the part about alchemy equipment means? I put a cooker, which after maybe 10 hours exploded. I thought they weren't suppose to explode anymore. Or when you put a higher purity item ,which would need more time to equalize the 2 elements, you still have a risk of explosion?

Thanks

Jorb never did reply to my request for clarification, I think, but I'm pretty sure I understood it right, and at least Colesie agreed. The alchemical changes that were made mean that when you put something inside a cooker and the item can no longer change, then it won't run a risk of exploding anymore. So counter-intuitively, once "dinner" is done you can just let it stew and nothing bad will happen anymore.

Stone 70/14/8/8 ---- Can still have a critical failure ---> 70/30/0/0 <- can no longer explode.

The only change I have noticed so far was an increase in purity in my mine.
I haven't smelted anything since yesterday so I can't say if there was a change.

Okay,so is it random when the item explodes before reaching it's max,or the instability is still an indicator?

Thanks again
