Haven't seen decay yet. Maybe just like sleds, they stick around forever.

Why are the dirt roads in Jamestown Capitol still the old ugly texture?

You said it buddy.

Half the hermitages out there have more stuff than the base towns, to say nothing of actual villages. Hell, you can get more functional items going in an unclaimed leanto camp in under 3 days than those places have. (Sure, the mills are high tier, but that's like one thing.) I don't expect to have a commie style "free whittling bench" or anything in town, but the only reason I go to town is to sell crap like Savage Charms anymore.

I like Jamestown, I don't understand why people give it such a bad rep. Like yeah, when first starting off there are alot of horribly placed mountains and lakes that block your way west of the capitol making new players discouraged from exploring. Although Darworth's crazy shenanigans are always a nice surprise! Remember when he trapped everyone in the capitol's spawn area with the unmovable wall of compost bins? Super Fun Stuff!

i left for roanoke because of those damn mountains... about 3 hours west a solid wall from the southern ocean to at least 3-4 hours walk north.

Found a huge lake in my explorations and sailed around and around it in my new canoe. Such fun!

I went for a journey in my brand new canoe and salvaged some logs that lakefront neighbors had lost to deep water.

Carrying a log while in a canoe makes it look like you're surfing, or being propelled by a log-rocket that's powered by paddle-whacks. But the true joy is in skimming across the 3/4 mile wide dish of "Spoon Lake" at 20 miles per hour.

It's a pity you can only retrieve stowed items when canoes are in the water, and thus right-side up.

It would be hilariously trollish if Canoes did need to be repaired, but required gelatinous lard in order to do so.

New dirt could do with a little desaturation. Or at least over time when dirt becomes undisturbed. Otherwise it will always look slightly moist especially with the absence of rain. 8-)
