As for town bells the point I made before witch was somewhat lost is that if you can't afford a town bell than you won't be able to retaliate against a raider who owns such a structure either way, waist claims or no waist claims.

That's a major flaw in your argumentation. Farming high purity seeds is largely independent of how much silver you have; specially if trading on the server is largely dead. You can do 2 hours work every 3 days for a few months and eventually you get max purity seeds, but that doesn't mean that you will automatically be able to afford a town bell. It would take many hours of cricket hunting/indian foraging if the trading is dead on the server.

Jamestown is very much a prime example of how trading is practically dead unless you own a stall (which is a good reason for why we need those casinos in starter town to attract people to actually spend time in starter town).

I guess that is caused by lack of content in Salem, in HnH you had many different jobs and each job required different set of highest possible skills, here single character can do almost everything right now, well only limitation is time.
Maybe it should be changed, if I got 100 s&c then getting 100 h&n should be harder for me than for character that doesn't have any prof higher than 30?

It already is harder to get to 100 h&n if you have 100 S&C already compared to a character trying the same but no proficiency higher than 30. Perhaps it should get even harder though, but it is already harder; important to remember.

Edit: Perhaps you don't notice that it is harder because by the time you start grinding the "h&N" you probably increased your black bile cap which would increase your learning speed and thus you may not notice the reducing effect.

I actually don't understand the current implementation of stalls. With so few in town, and most not actually selling anything and acting mostly like storage, some of them even entirely empty (Jamestown player here), they're not being used to their full potential. Why not change it so that, instead of buying a stall, a player would buy "slots" of a stall, up to a maximum of 3 (number debatable) slots per player. Also, change it from a one time payment to a (weekly/monthly?) rent so that if someone goes inactive that slot is free for another player to rent it. Additionally, every items put in stalls should have a price tag on them, so that even if they overprice them so nobody buys and the stall still acts as storage, at least at first it won't look like it. This comes from a guy who was working hard at producing loads of metal stuff to sell in Jamestown stalls, only to find out they were only purchasable back when they were (poorly imho) implemented.

There is already a weekly rent of 300s

Wasn't aware of that. I read in the forums that stalls were a 1 time buy option of 5000 silvers back when they were implemented. Glad it works like renting tho.

Still, I think the additional changes I mentioned should be implemented, since it would allow for more players to sell items securely in stalls (and there are lots who look foward for that chance), create a more competitive and dynamic environment for merchants and most likely increase the number of people visiting the capital towns, either because they want to buy, sell, or just check on the prices of the other merchants so they can adjust their own.

Not a bad idea but you'll get more attention for it in its own InI thread then lost in a busy announcement thread. =)

It's a pretty distinct idea from those though. It'd feel tacked on to add this idea to those discussions in my opinion. =o
