tl;dr - Urns - whuddafuq? is they a hippy new-age equivalent of a bucket or summat?

it's a container. nobody is going to buy them.

Container for what exactly?

Obvious answer would be water, but surely they're not just in the game to fill with water and then leave sitting around doing nothing? Water sources really aren't that few and far between on the map, so they must serve some sort of practical purpose?

You can put 14 items in the urn.

obvious answer would be "for decoration" and to waste space but may look nice. its a luxury.
we use it to put bones, or bone ashes, though ;) its a shame we cant put human skeletons in it.

maybe you could use it for larping, like put some hearts or brains and show respect to the animals you killed.
(oh im sure someone needs it!)

Urns are more space efficient lategame, since they only take one tile.
I never managed to figure out something clever for my signature on Paradoxplaza, and I doubt I'll do it here either.

Thankyou.

*scurries off to fire a load of Urns*

I knew I'd find a use for the millions of bricks I made. :)

For anything not requiring mass space (such as seed bag storage, fishing stuff, etc), my village has switched almost entirely to urns instead of crates. They are very tidy compared to cluttering crates everywhere, and much more space efficient than chests.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

Please add more vendor spots in the next update, with "buy orders" as an option! :)
