Patch 2.2.5 Tulip Mania!

Postby JohnCarver » Mon Feb 12, 2018 4:09 am

Greetings Salemites,
Horses are still on schedule for February but with Valentines day around the corner it was time to put a little love in the air!

MAJOR WARNINGS
-----------------------------------------------------
A new Major Warning: Herbpots may not persist plants for long periods of time in the future. As we begin evaluating and addressing mechanics that encourage both hoarding and 'tedium' we will start by eliminating some abilities to 'bank' large amounts of resources outside of normal storage metrics. This means that Crops and pots may wilt if not harvested in a reasonable manner etc. etc. The herbpots will most likely be the first to go this route. IF you have massive herbpot farms you find yourself never harvesting for large periods of time consider this your warning to harvest them.

Mason Lodge Level 5
The Mason Lodge level 5 will be live. I will share that on this level there is the ability to sell Tulips for absolutely absurd prices. Rumors are that Tulips and the speculative nature of their value can only go up and never crash. As such, a rush of demand to what is clearly a stable investment is anticipated. Plan accordingly.

Fruit Tree Rewrite
Fruit trees will now bloom in an extremely generous nature. This means those of you with massive fruit tree orchards will have silly amounts of Fruit. As a possible alternative to this I may implement a diseased tree mechanic, or perhaps I should just nerf the fruit per tree? Open debate plz.. Just know I am not happy with how much fruit you are going to have now but the unreliability of Fruit Tree harvesting needed to be adjusted.

Further Animation Work
We have been working further on animations. Wander has been changed to the current Run. Run has been changed to a 'jogging' of sorts, and there is a new Sprint, which is faster than all previous run modes but will only be viable for those with tip top phlegm.

Valentines Day Events
I may send y'all something on Valentines day. But leading up to it a strange new NPC has appeared in town selling Periodicals. He will trade them to you for turkey hearts.

Superball Event
*Refereeman should be in town to deliver rewards to all those who bet on the Pelters in the Superball Event.

We will have a new Support the Patch item of a Valentines Day shirt as well as Valetines candy delivered shortly after the patch drops.

Concord is Under Attack!
*Concord is now officially under attack by Brambles. Shame on whoever did that, but as a result:
--Brambles will not encroach the primary town claim as teh light radiating from it is too much.
-- Catapults now destroy brambles.

Pavement Orders
*Pavement Tiles now remember their priority against each other so that they should no longer swap the order in which they draw against each other.

Herbpot Rewrite
*Bugfix: Herbpots have been rewritten to properly accept the concept of something dying inside them. This is likely to cause crashes and unintended side effects so please post if you see your pots doing anything funny like persisting humus inside them when you know its not there etc. etc.

can we have catapults destroy townbells so people should hide them outside the range of players? ¦]

*P-Claims and Town Bells for Providence are now raidable without crimes if they are out of silver.

what does that mean? you can bash walls of towns out of silver without crime or TbF?

Awesome! Thanks!
I think I might be fine with fruit trees catching disease, if I'm actually able to harvest any at all prior to them getting sick. My fruit farm is considerably small (no more than 10 trees) and since I planted them a couple months back, one apple tree blossomed once.
Jesus died for our sins. You should do the same.
