I'm not sold on removing footprints from pavement. If you don't want to see them or think they make the game look cluttered turn your tracking off.

the footprints match the rest of this patch series perfectly and should not only remain but be quadrupled in frequency.

Have them not show only on claimed ground that is paved? I can see how the idea of just paving everywhere to overcome footprints is a bit of a cheat, but there are plenty of other signs of activity to see on a claim so the lack of footprints isn't taking away much in that regard. It's not like paving has much benefit at the time anyways.

red footprints should last as long as the scents

I gotta say, the footprints were a pretty terrible idea, but we all know JC is too proud of whatever **** he puts in the game to remove anything. For once atleast, darwoth is right.
