What is effect of event with a beggar and Santa's bag? These nice and naughty buffs affect anything?

I found it in box next to my leanto. Have no idea what it is. It seems like this is a gift from Santa, but I did not ask anything like that. Thanks anyway.

I got a toy sword from santa for my santa cookie. I decided to pose "En Garde!" with it and my claymore. This is what happened.

Theres a postman in town. Look for the multicolored flags. should be near the church. right click the guy and he'll say something along the lines of "If you don't have any mail, don't feel bad. No one loves me either." or one of his other lines.
