Usually I get 3-4 with 500 alloy

Have you tried smelting in last couple of days?

this was 2 days ago - doing some new testing right now, just have to place some "fresh" smelter to compare

1 bar with no alloying set on. two fresh smelters lit with 10/15 ore / lime and 15/10. Will light a few times to try to pinpoint the exact yield in each case. But as it stands if people are getting 1 and sometimes 2 bars WITH the near endgame alloying set, then possibly allowing is not applying anymore?

isn't it 13/12 rather than 15/10 ?

That was indeed the old optimal setup. I am however not familiar with the best setup and decided to test out some fixed numbers, easier on the math, and to try to potentially reverse engineer the formula if it's a new one.

Edit: in fact, 2nd smelt is done and it's still a bar each. With the old system i'd have had 2 bars in both.

Since I love guessing and being lazy, in the spirit of the old humus formula hunt, I urge everyone testing on fresh smelters to check if their bar yield is consistent with the formula Bars (expressed as 100 per bar) = number of ore * (2 * lime) / sqrt(2). Will keep testing meanwhile to figure out why the weight of 1 lime seems to vary, but that seems to be the best formula so far for me.

doesn't work for me: i had a consistent 1 bar with 10 ore / 15 lime - which should have given a bit over 2 bars using that formula. That's with a half-decent alloying set (~600?) too.

Well the point was that i'm not sure what exactly JC broke in the first place. That's why I was testing without. my 10/15 smelter yielded 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 1. The 15/10 smelter derped up a bit and went 1/1/1/2/1/1/2 o.O

1-2 bars ? ouh... dispoint :(
2 - 3 was fine ...

I'm not sure if their are plans to add any more historic flags in-game but this youtube video could help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzdoNOUdM-E
Is there an exact year of New England the game is supposed to take place in?

Unless I'm mistaken game time including year appears of you Mouse over the clock? I take it for granted so don't pay attention to the year, but it's in the 1600s.
