If you left it would seriously ruin my week.
As for your concerns, no its not too hard for new players nor do I think these updates hurt new players. IN fact I think its the opposite. As now new players who are out exploring the world have a nice chance to find things that Veterans would want.
You dream JC... it costs little to explore on the surface... but much to explore in a Mine.
You think by redirecting focus on the surface you will somehow convince others that it's OK they can't make it to dream world in 3 months? That even if they had 1400 humors they'd still die at Darworth's hands; than it's OK to just to hermit w/o a town until someone with 100,000-s of silver imminent domains their claim and wipes them out. Your change to Market was a good start but it will take 3-4 months to see stalls open up... even at 3K loss/week.
These last two patches are a travesty of veterans securing their place and you their willing implement.
Want to prove you are up to new players... reset something-
Reset Market stalls... I could lose all too... but it would be something significant enough to bring back folks who I personally know since I retuned to game that quit because they weren't available. Why wait 3-4 months for stalls to drain of silver... get it over now. Call it and open it up in 10 days and let all players know via forum/email that it's going to happen.
You keep asserting all of these things in a long winded way as if they are fact without supporting any of it. Most of your energy is directed towards indignation, not making your point.
As for high humor characters in the hands of veterans, I'd say these players are hardly invincible. Tough, but not invincible, and at this point, subject to limitations. Many of them are also very cautious. There are things even they cannot do with brute force, and ways to attack/defend against them that would be decried as incredibly OP/IMBA in many other games, but people just don't talk about the possibilities or such of it like, at all.
Although clearly, playing Rope a Dope with a demigod and letting him kick your ass all across the countryside is not the best way to do it.
Actually it's the single most stupid way and betrays a severe lack of imagination if that's the only way that occurs. The very conventions of the game that allow them to be evil, evil bullies also allow people (particularly groups) to be deeply nasty too. It's not like you are obliged to fight them "Schoolyard Rules" one at a time head on. Again, that's really dumb.
