1) More Expensive than Brick... Still balancing some of the drops.

3) Range is currently about 90 tiles. But given you can only draw about 50 tiles on your client or so thats not really the mitigating factor.

Would be fun to have the mortar have more range and be usable at that range, too, so you have like jobs for 3 people operating a single mortar, that is: one or more reloading, one aiming/firering, one or more scouting, but i guess that would be not possible due to how the game works.
For defense, this means so far that you now have at least a chance at destroying a (small) donuted TbF/TbC without leaving scents, that is, if you can build a mortar close enough, which is easily mitigated by the attacking party, and therefore not applicable in any serious case.
That is quite sad, when I first read it, I somehow believed it would be a fix for that.
[edit:] Speaking of "expensive", I dare to say that plank is actually more expensive than brick, both by the cost of raw materials and by the time and work needed to produce them.
