directly from paypal is not working in my banana republic

I've heard this previously for the Haven donations page as well, and I'm curious why. Don't you have credit cards where you're from, or what? What would be an alternative? Why does Steam work and not Paypal?

I used to buy directly with an international card, even on Paypal. I've read this is happening because local banks don't like the fact international stores are starting to convert their prices to local instead of just charging in dollar.
edit: changed paypal to dollar and tried again, got the same error, so I dunno

You can transfer money directly from your bank account to paypal, and then use paypal balance to pay for stuff (paypal will automatically do the currency conversion)
