Hey Lusewing!

Yeah, I played Salem a while ago. I don't remember much other than I stopped playing/following development and deleted it. I may take another look. Thanks! :)

If you want to attract the right sort of people to Salem then this guy would be a great place to start.

As to YouTube, Steam and Twitch, You should really contact the players that already tried Salem. I'm sure most of them would love to Stream for the Grand Release.

The Dev's need to contact Twitch and release a Game pic for their site. Right now there's no official pic or info on the game. All of us players need to follow the game on Twitch by going to this page and clicking the 'Green Heart' next to the name 'Salem'. This will show you if there is any streamers playing it when you check Twitch.

http://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Salem

As players we can simply follow these streamers and watch them when they're on to help them build a Twitch profile. The more of us that follow and watch, the more they'll climb the Twitch charts and the more the Game will climb the list. As the game and streamer climbs more people will just randomly check it out.

Salem Players who Stream on Twitch, Click Follow and watch them when they're on:

Hefferman
Hassekabab
Spalari
Sipo
Sisbox

These 3 streamers are bigger. Besides all of us following them and watching them the Dev's should also contact them about payed streaming opportunities.

Cannibal Kirby quit playing Salem but he streams LoL a lot. He could probably be interested in coming back if the Dev's contacted him.

His Twitch Page: http://www.twitch.tv/cannibalkirby/profile

Doapa is a big streamer who regularly streams Salem.

His personal Channel: http://gamingwithdaopa.ellatha.com/
His Twitch Channel to follow is: http://www.twitch.tv/daopa/profile
His YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingWithDaOpa?sub_confirmation=1

Aavak was the largest Streamer to ever try Salem. He had over 1000 people watching him play it before he quit because of a griefer. He might be interested in it again if we all contact him and follow him on Twitch. I've talked to his group on his Steam chat over the last 6 months and some of them have continued playing off Twitch. The Dev's should definitely contact him about stream opportunities.

Not gonna lie. Streamers are not going to be a good option at all. They will showcase grief and not the actual amazing game we have here.

Dallane is right. You should invite some professional reviewers and hand them over to us as a cheap labor force. We will show them some baubbles and at least get some work done

edit: oh oh oh! how about instead of weekly stall auction you would auction a reviewer to salem towns!

He should make a more offical one instead of using those old crap subreddits. There are 2 of them out there.

I don't think they can make an "official" Sub-reddit". They're anti-advertising policy on Reddit is pretty strict. salemgame is probably the best your going to get for the name anyways. He should just start posting all official announcements to it and we'll all read that one.

As for Twitch, YouTube, Steam, Facebook, He should definitely have official pages for it. The Dev's should link videos, follow streamers/game reviewers and post there. Those are the low hanging fruit for promoting the game. They should post all those links here on the forum for us to follow.

I don't know how much it would cost but getting on the Steam store as a Free to Play game is also an option. At the very least you need to set up an official 'Salem' community chat for us to join. It'll help new players hook up with friends and online communities.

It might be possible if an established group vowed to protect streamers long enough for them to get established in the game. I'm not usually one for hand holding but getting some big names to enjoy Salem for a month or so would be a really great thing for the game.

God, quit being so negative. They're all protecting their map now. If enough of them do it, or they do it in big towns like Sipo does then they're fine. Most of the bigger streamers also just make play-throughs on YouTube for games that are easy to grief like Salem.

Not being negative when its true.

Protecting a map means nothing.
