im sorry if i am upsetting you meow
i am trying to work out if there is possible bug in your map a problem with the way to homestead pointer or i am making basic assumtion faults if so i am sorry for wasting your time.
anyway your map is ok and looks nice after all i have navigated 3000 miles in real life with a worse one.

using vanilla client

from providence
standing on river crossing that is north south
bearing to base is NNW 315o approx variable 300 to 345

standing in stockade which i assume is limers front
jetty is east west
gates north south
standing on jetty
bearing to base is E 90o approx variable 85 to 95

standing to north of sun dial
bearing is NNE 45o approx variable 40 to 50

lines one ( providence) and three(sun dial) cross at place i expect but bearing two (from the stockade) is at least 4 widths of the stockade too far south

variables taken assumtions
north of the map is top of the map
north is top of mini map
there is no curviture distortion on map.

if i am wrong in any assumptions please clarrify what i am miss understanding.
will proberly get raided now :(

I think that 1 pixel on the published server map is half a 100x100 tile. (edit: removed some stuff) Looks like Limer's Front is in the right place.

Looks to me like the smallest is about 6x8 pixels, which means about 300x400 squares.

Instead of triangulation u can use old simple rangefinding procedure...

Print-out circle with measures on transparent material (kind of protractor or compass if u like), stick it to screen and resize salem window to start on edges of circle.
Travel to Providence.
Rotate your view so its align toward north (tiles are good for nailing rotation) and mark homestad pointer direction on the circle.
Travel west to Limers (50 silver) and repeat procedure.
Switch to map picture, resize it on screen same way as salem window, move it so providence is in middle of circle and transfer mark from circle, do the same with Limers then draw lines from both Providence an Limers and coresponding mark on map an voila, u have approximate location of your homestad...B)

is the reason the limers front dirrection to home is seeing the providence wagons as your home not your claim hence the line begin dirrectly east

Just from what you said and the providence map provided here, without using my own map or any information I could have on the exact location of sun dial and limers front. You should live somwhere here (just like a looooot of people so don't expect being raided). I don't see how hard that was.

So even if I half failed the triangulation, you know that you live 20 minutes to two hour walking from the shore, very close to a big lake and some mountains, and around two hours from Boston. Now go explore around your home and find the lake and the mountains, and gg, you EXACTLY know where you are.

...I don't understand what's wrong with your homestead pointer. I think it points towards the good direction but as you're quite far from both Providence and your home (while your home and Providence are not that far from each other) the pointer is not enough accurate for you to tell the difference.
