It would be fairly simple to do. It would, however, require that every new building we implement has this 'half-finished' build-model would would decrease the time in which we could add new buildings.

Could be for just some things. I don't know if this would be possible, but maybe you could crowdsource some art through competitions.

Surely you could have the default signpost for everything, and when people give you freebies carefully crafted models you can add it to the next patch? The game is beta and if its a mix of half sign posts half awesome building sites so be it.

even just delineating its hitbox with some silly rope and poles would help tons navigating around e.g. an unbuilt windmill
