You realize that the curses have a very large and conspicuous wind up before they hit you and a lot of witches are actually kind of afraid of even using the ones that can kill you because it might kill their even more unique and difficult to acquire witch character? Anyone who's actually going to mess around with that kind of bad mojo isn't even going to waste it on you unless they particularly dislike you to the degree they consider it "worth it" to mess with you.

They will mostly be gunning for big name players if anyone, and also probably people with desirable, difficult to acquire equipment.
