LoL. You can't even take a short journey around without the boat just up and disappearing on you if your not paying attention, Their needs to be a severe color change like the boat changes in HnH, currently Ko'd in the middle of a lake somewhere

The decay rate on everything else is long, why so swift and sudden for a boat? With miminal color changes too might I add...

How about adding a noise like the click of something breaking as a warning a short time before the boat breaks? Cuz that ***** just ups and disapears with minimal color change atm...That would help.

I'm not sure it's decay, it could be wear. Already gone through nearly 1 clamp repairing it.

The wear/decay does seem crazy if they are already gone after less than a day of use...I have yet to build one though so I'm only going on the prior few claims.

Perhaps tar will be a lot easier to get than coal once it's added to the game.
Coal is really easy to mass produce though.. It's just the waiting that sucks.

The wear on the boat is plenty noticeable. I went out for a short tour of the lake, killed some beavers, and returned home. I noticed only one wear tick (I'm guessing at 75%) because when I repaired my boat after the trip it was at 68%. 1 coal repairs 5% of the boat. I dont mind the wear on the boat...If anything, I think the coal needs to repair more than 5% of the boats hp, otherwise we are going to end up having to load the boat up with chests full of coal just to go on an all day excursion.

They added something that doesn't require to be balanced with other parts of game.

Problem with updates right now imho is like:
we get wells with high purity water -> we can make high purity food and level up humors -> we can break any defences in 1h with solo character
- to counter this we need some new defences also updated?

Instead of wells try to add any other new feature and you will see there is similar chain of consequences.

Figured wear would be slow and steady. Swimming - not for noobs.
