i spent 4k or so on tobacco before my fields came in, each one of those lowered by one level.

fields came in and i have gone through another 15 or so charges of gold/bright with identical results, across numerous characters.

obviously you are retarded.

I have smoked in total 4 gold leaf, got 2 reductions from them and 2 of them reduced nothing. (Done on the first and 2nd and 3rd day of the patch)

After reading what JC said, i decided to reduce my madness to 0, but the bright-leaf x10 puffs done nothing.

You are still a peice of **** no body likes. Go put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Would really love If JC could see the records of what i have smoked and post them, just so you can choke on it some.

Mouse over your Humors for your Madness level with the custom clients...

It shows zero (0) when the graphic shows 1. Maybe you are already at zero, and clearly shouldn't be if you feel you are still mad. I suggest seeking out a therapist. I know a good one for 100s per session. PM me.

I know how it works and the visuals of it.

You are as bad as Darwoth, must be his wife coming to the forums to defend him.

Lat's already show's you a madness level number on his gluttony bar and I don't know why people can't use the masks. It's about the easiest and coolest bar I've ever seen. Maybe you guys can't see the cracks in the masks or something but for me it's simple.

*Rare Drop has been added to the Mystery Cape Hanger (Store Change).

Can you tell us what these are. Are they secret? What exactly do you mean by "Rare Drop" in the store bought cape hangar?

JohnCarver wrote:*Two New Psychotic Episodes have been added.

You gave brief explanations of the other ones, can we get brief explanations of these or did you already add them to the list?

For the record I haven't had any issues losing madness levels by smoking the tobacaweed.

And why not just go hit the hookah to at least get to 1?

It's actually pretty hard for even mid level players, much less noobs to get to the Hookah's with the affluence requirements. It's still 250 to get into the club right? If Tobacco is really only a chance to reduce then that might really be not enough for players to get back to 0.

Anyone not able to get into the den is just a sign of them being lazy.

JohnCarver wrote:Yes Yes Yes. I am well aware of the leniency here. Between a hookah and a teddy bear its entirely possibe to get like 12+ hours of 'free' playtime each day without worrying abut insanity/madness.

I still think this a good mechanic and I think it's really easy for new and mid level players to avoid if they understand the mechanic, but....

I'm worried that all of these fixes for madness are way out of the range of anyone below 100 humours so that they can get back to 0 madness level.

Hookahs take a slotted 250 affluence set.

Bears are hard to hunt under 100.

Tobacco takes over 100 SnC.

All these are pretty tough to do for the mid level casual or noob.

I'm seeing major problems if a noob reaches level 1 and then has to buy Tobacco which may not even work at low levels. It's pretty damn hard for noobs to get a madness level and it's easy to avoid if you know the mechanic but I wonder about if they don't know the mechanic. Darwoth's talking about having to spend 4000s on tobacco early. How much are noobs going to have to spend on tobacco in the player stalls to get from 1 madness to 0 madness? I still don't see any tobacco in the player stalls. Maybe there needs to be one relatively easy way for a noob to lose a madness level or 2 to get back to 0 without having to count on the player stalls or expensive NPC stall.

Dallane wrote:Anyone not able to get into the den is just a sign of them being lazy.

WTF are you talking about? People can't even get affluence until they get mining, sifting and geodes going. To hit 250 is more like a minimum of gems and geodes which also takes gem cutting.

Vet players and the dev's are forgetting where most people are. Most players aren't able to make this stuff.

The difficulty is so when expeditions come out, you're pretty close on the edge of buying silver from the store to get to the point where your character, or group of characters, can survive a fresh new world without going insane.

I think it is pretty damn good.

Imagine the group of 30-humor characters taking on a bear so they can each take turns sleeping with the teddy bear.

I was certain that when JohnCarver basically said "tobacco will be the only way to reduce madness, period" he meant it. I really, really like the idea of having a cash-crop in Salem. It will make the town system that much more rewarding.

But now, nope. No difficulty. No real need to buy silver in the store. I dislike the Teddy Bear for Madness reduction =/
