I still think this a good mechanic and I think it's really easy for new and mid level players to avoid if they understand the mechanic, but....
I'm worried that all of these fixes for madness are way out of the range of anyone below 100 humours so that they can get back to 0 madness level.
Hookahs take a slotted 250 affluence set.
Bears are hard to hunt under 100.
Tobacco takes over 100 SnC.
All these are pretty tough to do for the mid level casual or noob.
I'm seeing major problems if a noob reaches level 1 and then has to buy Tobacco which may not even work at low levels. It's pretty damn hard for noobs to get a madness level and it's easy to avoid if you know the mechanic but I wonder about if they don't know the mechanic. Darwoth's talking about having to spend 4000s on tobacco early. How much are noobs going to have to spend on tobacco in the player stalls to get from 1 madness to 0 madness? I still don't see any tobacco in the player stalls. Maybe there needs to be one relatively easy way for a noob to lose a madness level or 2 to get back to 0 without having to count on the player stalls or expensive NPC stall.

WTF are you talking about? People can't even get affluence until they get mining, sifting and geodes going. To hit 250 is more like a minimum of gems and geodes which also takes gem cutting.
Vet players and the dev's are forgetting where most people are. Most players aren't able to make this stuff.
