Who doesn't pick flowers or pot stuff? Who doesn't forage stuff for 7 use inspi's? How can you play this game and not cook? Flowers include garlic and tons of other stuff. How do you glutton without pots?

Sup all,

I'm new to the forums and kind of new to the game.
I was honestly loving it until this INSANITY patch came out.

It annoys me how easy it is to gain INSANITY and how frustrating it
can be to lose it. I go and pick flowers to try and lower it and I get
"Itchy Britches" ok, So i'll just re-equip all my stuff then figure I
have to "Resist Itch" (a few times over) to finally be able un-equip
the Itchy leaf (hmm ain't too keen no more on flower picking after
that ordeal). I know! I'll go widdle a pile of timber for a while to try
and suppress the INSANITY, oh! there's a Timber Terror Fetish now
that has come to annoy me as well as decrease my Hammer & Nail
proficiency! YAY!! not too keen on using that advised method to
decrease INSANITY either. Plus, these annoying encounters happen way to
often to ever be considered as a remotely realistic experience of gameplay.
So, the honest best way to gain SANITY is to "use a trumpet" well sure! i'll
just go grab some tier 3 golden corn oil and materials and go make one!! sweet!

Look Guys, For a half noobie that was quietly working away and having fun to being
annoyed by voices and all these frustrating events (even termites in plank stacks
frequently eating your just acquired planks). I find all of this a bit over the top.
I got my high INSANITY level stupidly by trying to recycle resources
(licked moldy boards) -_- yeah I know trololol and all that.

I'm starting to not enjoy this game as much due to this patch. I find it a
chore just to try and get my character back to a normal state and it's getting annoying.
I get the feeling you are trying to deter people from wanting to play it with all these
new updates (it's that annoying).

If this INSANITY patch is to stay, May I please suggest a more easier method of obtaining
SANITY. Like simply being in a 9x9 square radius presence of a roaring fire (finding it soothing)
or a few similar basic things to make it easier on us hard working noobsters. Even introduce
a Psychiatrist to Boston, Clearing your INSANITY level for 500 silver or something.

Glad to get that off my chest..

Cheers! 8-)

First of all, you're lowering insanity, not your madness level which are 2 different things. Get too much insanity and you gain a madness level. Lowering insanity doesn't lower your madness level. You have at least one madness level if those things are happening to you which means you have to either smoke some tobacco or smoke a hookah in the den. (BtW how long until we have private hookahs in our towns?)

Don't lick a bunch of boards in a row, you'll get a madness level. Just lick say 3 or 4 and then lower your insanity. Don't wring a bunch of turkeys in a row, you'll get a madness level. Just wring 3 or 4 and leave the rest in a box to die and then lower your insanity. Don't skin a bunch of frogs, you'll get a madness level. Just skin 3 or 4 and lower your insanity.

This really isn't that hard folks. Again, the people who really have to worry about insanity and dealing with it are top players in the darkness. Relax and enjoy the new stuff.

There is now a 20 second logout timer to leave salem. (Force closing your client won't save you and will cause you to take far longer to log out than had you logged out legitimately).

the extra log out timer dose that count if the client freezes up and crashes ?

Honestly I'm not sure how someone with over 100 humors doesn't have the resources or daily routine available to keep their madness level down.

The newer players or the inefficient hermits that haven't cracked 100 and just dont have it down yet I think got hit hard by insanity. Not passing judgement. ..play at your own pace, just saying my perception.

A side note, if you don't have plantation management, the acquisition of enough tobacco seeds to replant is a bit tricky, unless changed in the mini patch. Then again, perhaps it's considered an advanced crop.

But they do have it just as easy. Everything that lowers insanity is something you should be doing at all stages of the game. Humors have nothing to do with it.

True, they should be more engaged in tasks that lower insanity. I haven't hit over madness 3, so I'm not sure what people are doing to get to the higher towers so quickly.

Madness is easy to avoid, what's hardcore now is foraging. All it takes is one internet hiccup or a silly crash for your character to become a stationary scalp.

Madness level 0, and i play allot.

Playing a permadeath mmo, implies that you are informed about the changes that happens when you are in bed/away from PC.

I travel trough Darkness 29 and lower, every time i spot a nasty , sing 1-2 notes, been inside a mine for a good while now, sifting will decrease that, and when your done,
go pick up some dead wood, turn it to sticks, or study some wood-chips, woven reeds, geodes etc..
