Well, they said that wouldn't happen, although I could live with it too. With more people coming in hopefully, and the existing population being compressed, and hopefully some more mechanics, things would be more "fun". I'd also like to see Ultima like mechanics on PVP, so you couldn't just randomly logout or crash your client, and expect to be safe. It would require people to get somewhere safe first by running like crazy, dumping stuff to TP somewhere safe, or actually DEAL with whoever is chasing you. (Or not. Maybe you can't handle them, and you exercise better judgement in who you hassle next time/where you wander around.)

Actually, I doubt Enigmaz was supposed to do anything. I think removing TotallyMoo was first step of cutting costs. Officially Enigmaz was a replacement, but I guess he was just some generic CM for whom Salem was one of many "15 minutes / day" job obligations without getting involved at all.

Good afternoon,

I concur - I don't think Engimaz's lack of involvement of the forums was him shirking his duties. I think his directive from his bosses was that his Salem role was to be kept to the bare minimum possible.

Faithfully,

Looking forward to the update on happenings. I view this announcement as less of a discouragement and more of a real opportunity for Sea Tribe. Jorb and Loftar have together created something really great here and most great things can only benefit from time, patience, and encouragement.

So, should we abandon Salem because Paradox is removing its involvement with the community and fronting the game? No. If you enjoyed the game, you didn't enjoy it because Paradox's logo was in the corner. You enjoyed it because of what the devs put into it. The same devs who made HnH which, while a nice game, is nothing compared to what Salem could become.

Indeed, well said.

Well yeah. The only real problem anyone I play with has had has been with Paradox, not the game, really. They haven't exactly been on top of the shop and supporting it very well, which is odd, because they are normally really good at customer support with their games.

No. This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. This is wipe.... if they are going to wipe, then wipe everything. Because you didn't work hard on your characters doesn't mean the work I put into mine should be erased.

Claeyt wrote:They wipe, they lose the last 200 people still playing. It's as simple as that.

Wrong again, I would continue to play and so would all of the Candy Gang. Than there are tons of people who would come back because they love fresh starts and wipes.

I agree 100%

You will notice in the videos that they ask nafasus or w.e for permission on alot of things. Now they can really open up and make things ALOT better.
