not because i do not like the game, not because i could not reach the top again but simply because i do not have time to ***** around yet AGAIN doing stupid tedious newb *****. not to mention as a solo player it takes me several times longer to do everything that most take for granted. my island for example was a giant hill when i took it over from some retards i killed, took me a month and a half of eye bleeding monotony to flatten it since i had to develop characters, purity, infrastructure and so on all while constantly fighting other groups.
i have played pre wipe, post wipe and have started from scratch on all three servers making a top 10% character(s) on all three.
the constant wipes are why i no longer play haven and likewise the stated no more wipes after the last one here is why i picked up salem, additionally folks really need to give the stupid "glarp glurp BETA" ***** a rest as well, semantics aside the game is released. has been since it started selling items and became open to the public.
I appreciate the hard work you and other dedicated people have put into the game, the time it took, etc. And Potjeh has a point the the eye bleeding is an issue, but obviously painstaking effort has its rewards. I'm not saying there should be a wipe. I'd much rather see humours shaved off everyone, structure HP rebalanced, and all legacy items obliterated before a wipe. I don't relish the idea of recreating my humours, especially if those humours are reattainable with the new system. And that's why I don't think they will wipe. If 1% of the game's population is above the new assumed cap with the new system, why wreck everything? It makes more sense to create a curve to bring everyone into what will from now on be considered "realistic" numbers.
That being said, it is still a beta, and that point is very important. Given the difficulty of the game in building, terraforming, agriculture, etc, the devs should take every step necessary to try not to force a wipe. But should the game take a necessary turn that would absolutely require a wipe, then that's what should be done for the game to progress until it is actually released. It will suck, but if it institutes something better and couldn't have been avoided, it's the job of those of us who stay to roll with it.
And to be clear, I feel you would be a greater loss than Claeyt and, in the event of a wipe, would suggest you reform the Rangers of the Lumberwoods to get the early dirty work done rather than dodge a swinging metaphor.
