If the majority scream loud enough, I'll simply lock the thread. Either way though, I hate to break it to you but you are certainly the minority here. The majority of Salemites are not using it as some glorified chat-room where they spend 30+ hours without actually doing something of substance.

Your concern is misplaced. I would remind you of the survival nature of Salem. Many, many other games in the genre require you to actively work toward remaining in a healthful state. To this end we implemented sanity. Your preference of the game in a previous state is a preference to the game unfinished. What you're arguing isn't an argument as hardly a handful of days has gone by, far too little time to appreciate what has been done. Spend some more time before kvetching.

We are always looking at feedback and take it with the grain of salt it deserves, especially when it makes things a little less easy.

do u even still play this game?

@Marp

how about taking off the insanity and using Bloods Starvation instead?

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=13939

im less confortable with drinking and eating every few hours then randomly working to not get insane and have random stuff happen...

AND it adds your wanted level of hardcore whilst at the same time is easy to counter.

So far i have seen, what three? "Veteran" players whining about the mechanic.

Here's what i've seen ingame. (Note i am a returning player & currently a "noob", i have not played since before the Boston wipe.) Since the patch i have played 20+ hr. I have never once reached even madness 1. Yesterday i walked an alt from Providence to my new homestead ( 3+ hrs from prov). Never got jumped and murdered because i did not have salt or pocket watches, not did my alt after 3+ hrs of walking reach any level of madness (though i felt like i was).

It sounds more like you are looking for any excuse to complain, and you are doing one hell of a job looking like an idiot.

I actually like it, breaks up the game more. If your paying attention to what is going on you really don't have to much to worry about. Just gotta watch what is happening and a majority of the psychotic breaks don't affect you that much.

Providing an alternative preference doesn't prove that this system isn't just as functional, not to mention the dozen of ways I can make Blood's suggestion even more unpallatable than insanity. Even if I didn't, there'd still be a handful of naysayers who wouldn't like it.

The very core of the idea is to reach away from simple eating. Following in the foot steps of the game's original concepts (colonialism meets cthulhu), we have taken a new approach with the concept of active survival. You don't like it. This has been noted. Now go play. Or don't. But until you do, and do so for a time, I don't see how you expect us to take your complaints seriously.
