you should be able to make a hedge maze from bushes.
as far as i know they can be planted close to each other!

i agree it would be nice to be able to place trees next to each other again.
as well as placing ore boulders with out having to make them all face the same exact way.
... i could go on... but these are the most annoying ones.

you can plant bushes next to each other i have a nice hedge to supply acorns and leaves and it looks good
some nice rose bushes would be great or the blackberry bushes to actualy turn into bushes

No data, but made one and average purity of minned boulders was better with light one, minned 4 bouders with light and 8 without and first 4 were much better in purity, hard to make reliable data since distance form ladder also make differnece, but will do 10 on 10 test as soon as i find good vein again.

It's only the hardrock tiles that can drop you to the next level - the ones that you need to burn before mining. I got my first two with about 3 or 4 hardrock tiles each. I've been mining my third level all week but haven't found any hardrock yet.

I'm just tunneling and building a network of mine supports so I can hopefully get a next level entrance as close to the ladder as possible.
