Why don't we have more Rangers in this game? We've had zero ranger groups join us or play this world. Why is that?

I'd love to see it but I don't have the time because I'm busy smoking tobacco and making cures for my disease not to mention all the rest of the stuff I need to do as a modestly casual player compared to the only people that can actually afford to make combat alts.

WE NEED A RANGER MECHANIC SYSTEM

1. Make a damn in-game Notice Board that leads to an online page like the store does with a Forum Page for Rangering/Reward offerings for noobs to get vet players to help them hunt down criminals. Make a Notice Board that shows a map to the general location of those criminals town maybe.

2. Have a system that shows who's the most prevalent criminal on the server by showing the top 20 characters that have the most crime scents active. Give rewards from the king to the Ranger that kills that character with the most scents active. Give something special to the criminal who's on that list.

3. Make a list of the top Criminal Dens on the server with the list being the towns with the most active scented Criminals living in it. Maybe give a general map to their area. A big circle for the Rangers to search instead of an 'X' like on the port maps.

4. One of the hardest things to do for Rangering is connecting the crime at some mid level base to someone who can actually do something about it. Normally players don't want to give out their location just to try and get a Ranger to the scent so why in the world can't you guys....

Make Scents Transferable in Town so that Rangers can be given Scents to hunt down criminals from Providence.

Go ahead and calculate how long it would take for a group of some new players to catch up, let alone a single player.
Just to get murdered then and maybe take a few alts with them if they are lucky.

You already get Store Credit for Rangering.

And you are not busy smoking tobacco. You are busy crying about non-issues on the forums.

Already calculated. Its quite easy and done more often than you think, just interesting how many players don't have the need to come to the forums and 'brag' about what they did.

The tutorial explains multiple times over that a new player should try to join a town. Being a hermit living near the starting town is basically hard mode. Joining a group can be hard I admit, but if people would build farther away from providence and not hunt beaver on the coast you probably would never get hit....

If you're willing to put in the effort you can make a 300 bile yb/red in a month once you have a main able to kill bears and be a decent gardener.

Look, insanity's not that bad and neither is newbies getting killed. They are aware of the permadeath feature and the thrill and also danger you get from it, that's why they're here in the first place. Newbies dying and failing is a part of progression and such occurences cannot be halted by you or a pack of wanna-be goodie rangers. Just let it happen. They'll learn from it. It's a survivor of the fittest scenario.

Where is this posted? Why isn't this drama on the forums?

Like I said before, Killing should be about hunting down criminals, witchcraft and politics not about griefing noobs or just catching someone off base chopping trees.

You're providing me the exact same arguement about how newcomers get killed by the big guys which I thoroughly explained that those events are what makes Salem. Your decisions can lead to your death if you don't play the cards right. The definition of killing is up to the community to use and make out of its morals. If you don't favour that much, you could try and be the good guy Greg ranger.

I'm sure its in one of the patch notes. But its also just a mechanic. If you bothered to help any noobs like you pretend you do then you would have rangered a criminal by now and got the store-credit item in your inventory and known all about it.

I started playing with a friend. We were raided several times because said friend wanted to play Salem expecting rainbows and unicorns. Eventually I couldn't stand it anymore and I simply walked away and said goodbye. We spoke some after that, usually him complaining that he died carrying all his wrought iron in the mines when he afked holding a boulder over his head or something. Over time I heard less and less from him. The day the insanity patch came out, he logged in to tell me goodbye. He was now 100% sure this game was simply unplayable, there was just no point in even trying anymore. I agreed with him, there was absolutely no point in him even trying. ¦]
As if I care.
